Program Options, Costs & Policies
Our driver education program includes an Indiana BMV-approved online course, six hours of driving with certified instructors in our fully-insured vehicles, and the Indiana-required drive test; and we can provide instruction to teen and adult students. It is important that both parents and students have trust and confidence in those that will be teaching them to drive. We are extremely selective about who we train and employ, and we hold every instructor to a high standard of conduct. If you are interested in becoming an instructor–but are not currently certified in Driver Education–we are also an Indiana-certified driver education training school. Behind The Wheel offers full-service, year-round, Indiana-accredited instruction that:
- Involves both the beginning driver and the parents
- Allows students to start learning immediately (no waiting for a class or summer program to begin!)
- Includes step-by-step resources on your online student account to guide you successfully from getting the permit to getting the license
- Provides the Certificate of Driver Education Enrollment (CDE) form required in order to get a permit at age 15 (online course-only schools CANNOT issue this form)
- Features a convenient, online course that can be completed at your own pace any time of the day or night
- Offers pick-up from home or school for all drive sessions at no extra charge…that saves busy parents both time and gas!
- Includes the Indiana-required final drive (road) test for license; please note that only students of Behind The Wheel Driving Academy are eligible to take the drive test.
Rest assured: Behind The Wheel is fully accredited by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles along with all of its instructors, who undergo a thorough certification process, including an in-depth background check and physical exam. Students drive one-on-one with the instructor in our fully-insured vehicles, and parents are always encouraged to talk with the instructor or call the office regarding how the student is progressing and any areas of concern.

NOTE: IF SCHOOL IS CANCELED/MOVED TO VIRTUAL DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS, DRIVES IN THAT CORPORATION ARE ALSO CANCELED; PLEASE CALL 812-402-7058 TO RESCHEDULE. ON WEEKENDS, INSTRUCTORS WILL USE THEIR BEST JUDGEMENT REGARDING THE SAFETY OF CONDUCTING DRIVES.

When you submit the registration form, you will be directed to select your program and make the payment.
